The American Medical and Life Insurance Company (AMLICO) was a New York-based company with licenses in 41 states. At AMLICO, we have written both single (limited benefits in the areas of medicine, habitual living and short-term disability) and group businesses (dentistry, living, accidents, illness and sight). In 2013, the company recorded a loss and shortly thereafter began liquidating the company.

Until the end of 2014, the company gave its approval to the winding-up and an application for winding-up was filed. Soon afterwards, a prospective buyer made an offer to acquire the company. Form A was never authorised, and in September 2016 the winding-up was rethought after attempts to find an adopted vehicle had been unsuccessful.

An application for winding-up was submitted on 16 November 2016. This order provided for the termination of all contracts 180 working days after the date of dissolution. 28 stock guidelines still exist. An application for winding-up was submitted on 28 December 2016. Pursuant to the order for winding-up, all contracts expire on 26 June 2017 and the date of the loss barrier is 24 September 2017.
