Simplification of private health coverage and increase in coverage for females - Greg Hunt MP

Turnbull government makes private health care more understandable and accessible with the introduction of a new system of classifying each one. Specifically, this new system will enhance coverage of female health care issues, covering gynecological care, management of ovary and breastcancer, and reconstructive surgery. As of April 1, 2019, all 70,000 private health insurers will be divided into a four-stage system - Gold, Silver, Bronze and Basic.

These new changes will give the consumer a clear explanation of what is and is not included in a contract, in the shape of a single clear information page. It is important that these reform measures do not raise consumer-pricing. These include in particular that the costs for maternity benefits do not vary. Indeed, our reform will make health care more accessible as health care providers can now reduce health care premium rates for 18-29 year olds by up to 10 percent.

Coverage level Basic and Bronze are affordably priced choices that make it easier for Australians who have access to important health care facilities to choose. Policy is appreciated above all by local and country people. As well as the minimal requirement for the Silver, Bronze and Basic grades, insurance companies can also provide coverage for hospital classes, in which case the name of the class may be [Silver, Bronze, Basic] Plus (+).

I am proud for the first consecutive year to provide essential assistance to female patients in the Silver and Bronze category, which will cover gynecological care, curative care for ovary and breast cancers, and breast augmentation. It will help a thousand Aussie females diagnose, treat and recover from cancers. Deloitte's modeling shows that Labor's plans to abolish cheaper health care products would lead to a 16 percent rise in private health care premium for Australians in the tens of million.

In addition, a breakdown of private health insurances would lead to the elimination of delays in hospitals. Much less than every year under the Rudd and Glillard regimes, our genuine reform program has brought the smallest rate changes in 17 years. Understanding every last single Dollar, our guidelines focus on lower bonuses and an easy to follow system.

While more Australians than ever before are profiting from the unprecedented mass billings, we must further reduce private health care expenses and cut out-of-pocket expenses. All Bill Shorten wants to do is disassemble them and take away from the Australians the health care they want and earn.
