The SHOP marketplace, however, is not available for self-employed persons without staff. 7] However, you can take out health insurance through the Individual Health Insurance Marketplace.

Company health insurance is usually available for 1-50 full-time equivalents (FTEs) employer. When you have fewer than 25 staff, you can earn the Small Business Health Care Tax Credit if you take out SHOP insurance.
